Fabrizio Freitas, head of marketing and analytics at Caleta Gaming, discusses the games studio’s upcoming appearance at GAT Expo and its plans for the rest of 2022.

Caleta Gaming will be attending GAT Expo, what does the company expect from the fair, one of the first 2022 expos?

We’re thrilled to be exhibitors at GAT Expo this year in Cartagena de Indias where we hope to connect with iGaming operators/aggregators to expand our operation in Latin America, especially Colombia. We hold GLI19 and Colombia certifications for our RNG and 16 games and we want to leverage these achievements with key players in the region. It will also be nice to be back in touch with colleagues and friends from the iGaming industry.

What can visitors expect to see from Caleta Gaming at the fair?

We’ll be available at our booth to showcase our game portfolio and meet operators, aggregators, casinos, labs, current clients and other potential partners. We look forward to engaging with everyone at the expo. People visiting our stand can expect to get to know and play our premium games, be updated about our recent and upcoming titles, engagement features, and promotional tools. We’ll also be available to talk about how to collaborate, discuss key market trends and opportunities, and so on.

The company has signed distribution deals with different firms recently, such as Foliatti Casino and Golden Matrix Group. What are the next steps in Caleta Gaming´s growth?

Our distribution network is already very solid compared to how young of a company we are and we’re on the verge of announcing new strategic deals. Of course, we’re constantly looking to expand, so, during the expo we’ll be looking to close key deals that we’ve been pushing through the final stages and getting to know other prospective customers to start engaging.

Another challenge that we’re facing this year is to expand our operations to more regulated markets. We’re in the final stages of gaining Bahamas certification and early in 2022 we outlined a certification roadmap to enter strategic regions. It’s a long-term undertaking that will require huge investments and resource allocation, and we are confident it will pay off.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, there has been an increase in the demand for online casino games. Do you think this change will be reflected in continuous growth in the future?

Yes, I think the growth will continue in the long run. The pandemic accelerated changes in different aspects of our lives that were previously theoretical and quickly became reality, like the benefits of balancing remote and office-based working. In most cases, there is no going back after that. The parallel in the iGaming industry is this: during the pandemic players noticed that they could get high-quality casino entertainment without leaving the safety and comfort of their homes. I don’t think that’s going to change either. Even when the pandemic restrictions are lifted, players now know that playing online is easy and fun. Most people will probably adopt a balance between land-based and online gaming to maximize the advantages of different ways of enjoying casino games.

What are the company´s plans for the next few months?

We have a strong and challenging roadmap ahead of us this year, which includes new games, engagement features, integrations, and certifications. On the game roadmap, we’re not only working on our own titles but are also creating custom and branded games in collaboration with key partner companies. This year our team is focused on delivering innovative games with fun bonuses and features to keep engaging and surprising our players. For instance, recently we released in partnership with Gamdom a feature called ‘Slot Battles’, where players challenge one another in dual-screen competitive battles, with the player who wins the most in a certain set of spins or feature buys collecting the other player’s wager. That’s the kind of innovative feature we want to focus on more and more.

We’re also putting our team on the road. We plan to attend events beyond GAT Expo this year including: ICE London, iGB Live! Amsterdam, Brazilian iGaming Summit (BIS), SBC Summit Barcelona, G2E Vegas, SIGMA Europe in Malta, to name just a few. So we hope to meet a lot of people and continue to contribute to the growth of the iGaming industry.
