At the beginning of 2024, we reached an important milestone in Caleta’s history by obtaining the MGA B2B Critical Gaming Supply licence (MGA/B2B/1006/2023), which allows us to supply our content to operators based in Malta. Since then, we have become increasingly involved in meeting the requirements of various regulated markets.

With the publication of Decree SPA/MF Nº. 1.207 of 29 July 2024, which establishes the technical requirements for fixed-quota online gambling in Brazil, we are moving forward to certify our portfolio for the Brazilian market. Our aim is to make our games available to all operators who will be licensed from 1 January 2025.

In view of the ongoing regulatory process in Brazil, we have renewed our partnership with Gaming Laboratories International (GLI®), which becomes even more strategic to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of security, transparency and compliance. As Paulo Nova, founding partner and CTO of Caleta, emphasised: “This alliance is fundamental for us to ensure that our games always comply with global best practices.”

Fabíola Jaeger, co-founder and CEO of Caleta, adds: “By renewing this contract, we reaffirm our commitment to offering a reliable and compliant gaming experience in both the Brazilian and international markets.”

In addition to submitting several games from our portfolio, we will certify our RNG (Random Number Generator), the system that generates a sequence of numbers between a minimum and maximum value used to generate random results, and its RGS, the game’s central controller responsible for managing the flow of the game, communication between the supplier and the platforms, including the player’s wallet.

“Brazil’s regulations are in line with best practice in the gaming industry and we were the first laboratory to be approved for certification in the country. Our partnership with Caleta makes us proud to work with a Brazilian gaming supplier that is constantly growing and evolving. Caleta has always been proactive in the regulatory process, certifying its games even before our market had its own requirements,”

In 2006, GLI made history by becoming the first independent games testing laboratory to achieve ISO 17025 certification. In 2024, it repeated this milestone by becoming the first laboratory authorised by the Ministry of Prizes and Betting to certify games in Brazil.

Taking advantage of the certification process for the Brazilian market, we will soon also be certifying our games for other Latin American markets, such as Peru and Colombia.
